Valentine’s Nail Art Tutorial #1: Love and Lips

Hi everyone,

Today I bring you my first Valentine’s Day themed nail art. With about 1 month until the holiday, I figured some people would be starting to get into the spirit with themed manicures. I chose to go with atypical V-day colors today, but don’t worry, there will be plenty of pink and red happening later. The colors I used were Sally Hansen’s “White On” and Sally Hansen’s “Pacific Blue”. “Pacific Blue” is by far, one of the best nail polishes ever. If you ask any nail polish addict, they will agree. The color is so rich and vibrant, the formula is impeccable, and the price is ideal. I chose to paint all of my nails white except for my ring finger.

Next, I took my 2013 Cheeky “ ” Jumbo Nail Plate, and used the lips design. I used “Pacific Blue” to transfer this design onto all of my white nails. If you don’t have any stamping tools, you can try to free hand a couple of lips or hearts or whatever you’d like!

The last step in this design includes some little blue heart rhinestones. I got these in a kit that Santa gave me for Christmas. You can use any color rhinestones you can find, but I would try to coordinate you accent color to match the rhinestone, like I did with “Pacific Blue”. I first used a large dotting tool to make a row of 3 dots down the center of my ring finger. Then I quickly applied a heart into the center of each dot. The white polish acts as a frame for the stone so that it is more visible, but it also acts as the glue to keep it in place!

Lastly, seal you design up with a top coat, and you are ready to rock this fun mani. I hope you enjoyed my first Valentine’s Day tutorial. I will be posting a few more up until the big day, so be ready for them!

Talk to you soon,

xo Becky
