Happy late Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! It was Tom and my first Thanksgiving away from our families, and it really was just the 2 of us. We bought a brand new kitchen table a few weeks ago, so we decided to cover it with food and just enjoy each other’s company. We ended up having breakfast foods instead of the traditional turkey dinner to save us time and stress.
Our table was covered with nitrate-free bacon, scrambled cage-free organic eggs, homemade sweet potato fries, sausage onion and spinach “stuffing”, mock “cornbread” from the Paleo Chocolate Lover’s cookbook, fig jam, and Kerrygold butter. The cornbread, butter, and jam weren’t Whole 30, but we made a conscious decision to splurge on it. It was AMAZING too, and super simple to make! We also splurged on a couple of gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, and I made some Paleo coconut milk caramel to go with them.
Our Whole 30 has been going pretty smoothly. We’ve had a few hiccups, but we have both been thinking healthier, which is HUGE. We don’t want to eat poorly anymore, and are more ambitious about our fitness. We may have cheated a little on Thanksgiving, but we were both proud of our choices, and it was the first Thanksgiving we have had where we didn’t feel stuffed like a turkey after eating! What did you guys have for Thanksgiving? What are your favorite Thanksgiving items. For me, it’s definitely gravy. I didn’t get to have any this year, but maybe next year 🙂
Anyways, today I have a new nail art tutorial. It is definitely one of my favorites! I got a TON of complements when I wore this about a month ago. It is super easy and can be varied in so many ways. All you need it some black polish, a few different colored foil nail polishes, and a make-up sponge.
To get this simple, but impressive design, begin with a black base. Next, tear pieces off your makeup sponge to create a rough surface. Paint a small amount of a foil polish on a piece of the sponge and dab it on random spots on your nail. Continue with the other colors until the nail is covered. Seal the look with a top coat and you are done! Told you it was easy 🙂
I love this look. It would be so gorgeous with purple, pink, and orange, or green, red, and gold for Christmas! I am going to be trying this out with different colors in the near future. Be sure to follow me on instagram for what’s currently on my nails!
